The latest improvements to job finder.
A home for the answers you keep rewriting
New- Open a posting and you can now draft an answer to any question its form asks. It writes from your profile and that specific posting - it will not invent experience you do not have, and where you are genuinely light on something it says something true and adjacent instead of bluffing. Save the good ones to your Answers page in one click; they remember which company you used them on.
- There is a new Answers page for the open questions application forms keep asking - "why this company", "how do you handle disagreement", "your GitHub profile". Write an answer once, find it later by searching the question or the answer text, and copy it straight into the form.
- Already have these written down somewhere? Paste a batch of Q: / A: pairs into the bulk import box. It shows you what it understood before anything is saved, so a messy paste cannot quietly fill your list with junk.
The queue count means something again
Fixed- The number beside Queue now counts what you would actually review. It was counting every posting ever collected - so it read in the thousands while the queue itself showed a couple of hundred. It now counts the postings that clear your review bar, which is the list you open.
- Your daily digest email counts the same way. It was reporting the full backlog next to a list drawn from a much smaller set. The "unscored" figure still shows everything waiting for a verdict, so a scoring hold-up is still visible.
- Older postings that are plainly not software jobs have been cleared out of the queue. Things like "Kitchen Porter", "Administrative Assistant" and "General Laborer" arrived before we started filtering them at the door. Nothing is deleted and none of it counts as something you turned down - they are simply closed, the same way a posting that has been taken down is.
Your scores keep up with your profile
New- Editing your CV or preferences now re-scores your queue. Until now every posting kept the verdict it got from your old profile, so the list quietly drifted out of date; we now queue those postings again and tell you how many are on their way.
- A "Rate this job" button on any posting. If something arrived unscored, or you disagree with a score you already have, you can ask for a fresh verdict on the spot.
- Shortlist or pass on a strong match right from Telegram. The instant alert for a top-scoring posting now has two buttons under it, so you can act the moment it arrives instead of opening the app.
Fixed- Finishing setup no longer leaves you staring at "scoring is paused". New accounts were being told their profile was incomplete because of a Projects section the sign-up never actually asked for - it is optional now, and you can still fill it in on your profile whenever you like.
- Fewer obvious non-jobs in your queue. Postings for trades and professions that have nothing to do with software - and the occasional listing that is just a stray URL or a page title - no longer take up a slot.
- An account without an active subscription is now told so. The queue used to say postings would land "within about 15 minutes" when nothing was being collected at all, and the Rescan button appeared to work while doing nothing. You now get a clear notice and a link to the plans.
- The Telegram bot answers when you message it. Opening the bot and sending /start used to get complete silence unless you arrived through the link in Settings; it now tells you how to connect.
- Telegram alerts actually arrive now. For anyone who connected recently, tapping "Connect Telegram" looked like it worked but silently did nothing - the bot was not listening. Reconnect once from Settings and alerts will start coming through.
- A handful of older postings in your pipeline that had lost their company and title now say so plainly instead of showing blanks. Most were recovered; the rest show "Posting details unavailable" rather than looking broken.
- Your profile and sources pages load faster. They were making several requests one after another when they could run at the same time - fixed.
Settings gets a real layout, and a few filter and score fixes
New- Settings has a proper side menu now instead of a row of tabs across the top, so there is room to grow without things getting cramped or hidden.
- In split view, the queue now opens your top posting automatically instead of showing an empty pane, and the detail side is noticeably wider - room for the score bars to breathe.
- A ceiling filter next to the floor one, so you can narrow the queue to a band of scores instead of only setting a minimum.
- Set your timezone from a real list of cities and regions instead of typing it in - it can no longer be saved as something that does not exist.
- Added a System option to the theme toggle, alongside Dark and Light, so the app can follow your device instead of only switching between the two.
- Swipe view now opens on a posting right away instead of a plain list, and the card shows the salary, summary, red flags and score breakdown - not just a title. Left/right arrow keys move between postings too.
- A row with no score yet now has its own "Rate this job" button, so you do not have to open the full posting just to ask for a verdict.
Fixed- "Archive all" now archives exactly the postings your filters are showing, not the whole queue.
- Postings pulled from Hacker News no longer show a raw URL, a location, or "unknown" as the job title - the parser was assuming a strict format the actual posts do not follow.
- A solidly-good score (70-84) no longer shares the same orange as the buttons on the page - it has its own color, so it reads as a score rather than as something to click.
- On a phone, the queue no longer opens on a wall of filters before showing a single posting - they are tucked behind a "Filters" toggle now, and the postings are right there.
Pick your plan without leaving the app
New- Setting a new password now signs you out on your other devices. If you reset because someone else might have had your password, they no longer stay signed in.
- Passwords now need to be at least 12 characters, and finishing a reset tells you it worked instead of leaving you guessing.
- Every page can now explain itself. Press ? and choose “Tour this page” for a short walkthrough of whichever screen you are on - the pipeline, your sources, your profile or settings.
- “Keep me signed in” on the login screen. Tick it on your own machine and you stop being signed out after 30 minutes idle; leave it off on a shared one. You can change your mind in Settings.
- All three plans are now on your settings page, with your current one marked. Changing plan goes to the billing portal, and there is no way to accidentally buy a second subscription.
- Setting up your profile now starts with a link. Paste a job you would actually apply for and we read it to fill in your stack, level, locations and salary floor - then you check it over and change whatever you disagree with.
- Archive enough postings from the same company and the archive page offers to stop showing them. It only ever asks - nothing is filtered until you say so, and if you say no it stops asking.
- Connecting Telegram is now one tap. No more looking up your numeric chat ID and pasting it in - though you still can if you prefer.
- Tailor your CV for a specific posting: which of its keywords your CV already has, which highlights to lead with, and the gaps it cannot cover. Suggestions only - your saved CV is never changed. It shares the same application slot as the cover letter, so preparing one application still costs one.
Fixed- Resetting your password works again. The emailed link used to drop you on the home page instead of the page where you pick a new one, with no way to finish.
- Emails from us - password resets, sign-up confirmations - now actually arrive, and come from Jobfinder rather than a generic address.
- Running out of weekly applications used to tell you to upgrade with nowhere to do it. The message now takes you straight to the plans.
- Finishing setup now starts you off tracking a spread of company boards, so your queue fills up straight away instead of staying empty until you pick some yourself. If you have already chosen your own, nothing changes.
- Locations in setup are now one per line. Typing "Berlin, Germany" filed the country as a separate location and sent the wrong constraint to scoring.
Track the companies you actually care about
New- Paste a Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby careers link to track any company, not just the ones on our list.
- We check the board really returns postings before adding it, so a mistyped link is rejected with a reason instead of quietly never sending you anything.
- The sources list is searchable, and now leads with what a company actually is rather than its raw slug.
- Filter the list down to just the sources you track.
- On a job, the buttons you act with - status, open & apply, write a letter, copy it - now stay beside you as you read instead of sitting at the far end of the page.
- The job posting itself is now shown in full rather than hidden behind a toggle, so you can read what the score is actually about.
- Set a reminder to chase an application, and the pipeline opens with what is due today - including anything you missed.
- Record what a company said. A rejection files the job away and stops the reminders; silence past the usual wait shows as no reply, without you having to mark it.
- Sort the queue by best match, newest, or the old queue order - best match is now the default, so scored jobs lead instead of being buried behind everything waiting to be scored.
- Filter to jobs posted in the last day, three days, week or month.
- The score filter can now exclude unscored jobs entirely, so asking for 70+ really means 70+.
- Every job now gets a second, independent opinion from a different AI model. You can see both numbers, and a warning when they disagree - which is the honest signal that a score is less certain than it looks.
- Set your preferences with real fields - what you work in, level, working style, locations, what to avoid - instead of hand-writing markdown. Your preferences document is written for you from them.
- On a phone, swipe a job right to shortlist it or left to archive it - the same two actions as the buttons, without hunting for them.
Fixed- Jobs older than 90 days are no longer collected or scored. Some postings in the queue were over four years old.
- Newly published jobs are now scored before older ones that happened to be collected recently.
- Scoring no longer stops for the rest of the day when one model hits its limit; it falls back to others and keeps going.
- Scoring runs three times as often, so a backlog clears in under an hour instead of most of a day.
- The version number in the sidebar now links here.
- Importing a CV when the daily AI limit is used up now says so, instead of claiming your file could not be read.
See why a job scored the way it did
New- Click a score to see the four dimensions behind it, the summary and any red flags - no page load.
- Every row now shows the one-line reason and the pay range, so you can decide without opening the posting.
- Disagree with a score? Tell us, and say what it should have been.
- Archive everything matching your current filter in one go, with an undo if you change your mind.
- The sources page now shows how many postings were filtered out and why, each reason linking to the setting that would widen it.
- An empty queue now says which kind of empty it is - all caught up, no sources tracked, or nothing scored yet.
- Job postings that have been taken down now drop out of your queue, and are marked as closed in the archive.
- Download everything in your account as a single file, from Settings.
Fixed- A failed payment now shows a banner while there is still time to fix it, instead of one email you might miss.
- If your profile is incomplete, we now tell you scoring is paused instead of quietly sending you nothing.
- Open & apply now asks whether you actually applied, instead of assuming you did.
- Saving a note on a job you are waiting to hear back about no longer hides the "going stale" marker.
- Alert threshold and quiet hours are yours to set, rather than fixed for everyone.
- A job posted to several boards shows up once, not once per board.
- The source filter lists every source you can track, not just some of them.
- Press ? anywhere in the queue for the keyboard shortcuts.
- Large ingest runs no longer fail partway through, so the queue fills up properly.
Scoring built around your profile, not someone else's
New- Your remaining applications for the week are shown in the sidebar, before you run out rather than after.
- Interview prep is saved once generated, so revisiting a job does not regenerate it.
Fixed- Scoring now judges postings against your own stack and location - it was quietly assuming one specific engineer.
- The onboarding wizard no longer writes someone else's tech stack into your profile.
- Filtering during ingestion now uses your profile rather than a fixed one.
- Pricing shows one price and one billing period everywhere - the pricing and account pages disagreed.
- The archive loads a page at a time, so a long history opens quickly.
Getting set up, and a queue that works on a phone
New- A setup wizard turns a few answers into your profile, and remembers where you left off if you close it.
- Telegram alerts now go to every account that has set them up.
- Sessions sign out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Signing up now has a confirm-password field, a show-password toggle, and real error messages.
Fixed- Saving your profile, finishing the tour and other actions were silently failing - they work now.
- The queue is readable on a phone, and keyboard navigation keeps the focused row on screen.
Job finder is now open to everyone
New- Create an account and run job finder against your own profile.
